Discovering Land Minibeasts for Home Educators (ages 5-7) at RSPB Ham Wall

Discovering Land Minibeasts for Home Educators (ages 5-7)

Wednesday 6 July 2022

10:30 am - 12:30 pm

Price: £5.50 per student. Please note a booking fee applies. Accompanying adults free.

Booking essential - a ticket only event. Advanced bookings only.

Can you spot a butterfly, bee or a beetle? Come join us for an exciting bug hunt through our mini marshes where children will locate, capture and identify amazing minibeasts using magnifiers, charts and special techniques like sweep netting and brush beating. The session will bring children closer to nature and help them to build their awareness of living things and where they live.

Working in partnership, the RSPB and Natural England provide outdoor learning at the Avalon Marshes near Glastonbury. This wetland landscape in the Somerset Levels teems with wildlife: bitterns, otters, water voles, eels and the largest wintering roost of starlings in the UK. You can find more details of our learning programme on the website https://www.rspb.org.uk/fun-and-learning/for-teachers/school-trips/. RSPB Avalon Marshes has the Learning Outside the Classroom Quality Badge.
