How to begin Birdwatching at Mersehead

Birds are everywhere, from remote places to our towns and cities. But can you recognise them? Join our walk to see what's here at Mersehead and get familiar with some of the common and rarer ones.

Bring binoculars and your favourite bird guides if you have some, a notebook and pen/pencil. Tips will be given on recommended guides and how to use these in helping identify what you find. We have a small number of pairs of binoculars which can be loaned out for the event.

This event will mostly take place outdoors (so please dress for the weather) with some time spent indoors or in viewing hides.

Additional car parking charges apply to non-RSPB members. Note that tickets for children attending can be purchased from our visitor centre (cash only) and all children must be accompanied by ticketed adults.

Note: As the reserve location is prone to flooding, we ask that all individuals/groups attending provide a telephone number, so we can notify you in advance if the event is cancelled.
