Join us as we cycle along the breath-taking Exe Estuary trail in search of one of the UK's largest and most distinctive birds of prey.
Ospreys spend the summer breeding in the UK but are now undertaking their marathon migrations back to Africa. During this journey, both adults and newly-fledged juveniles stop off at our rivers and estuaries, showing off their unique fishing abilities and using favourite perches for feeding. Who can blame them for choosing the beautiful Exe Estuary as their 'pit stop'?
This is your best chance to see the impressive 'fish hawk' over the River Exe. Our expert guide will put you in the best place at the best time, answering any questions you may have about ospreys and any other wildlife you see. There is always some luck involved, but what we can guarantee you is a fun and educational experience.
At this time of year there is a whole host of wildlife to enjoy:
Other raptors, including marsh harriers, hobbies and peregrine falcons
Summer migratory birds such as wheatears, swifts and yellow wagtails
Arriving winter visitors like black-tailed godwits, teals and dunlins
What better way to explore than on two wheels! We are so privileged to have a safe and sustainable way to navigate the river and its many spectacles.
