Family Wildlife Walk at Old Moor

Join our enthusiastic guide, Gerald on a fun family stroll in search of Old Moor's exciting wildlife for a perfect family-focussed introduction to nature.

No previous experience needed.  Don’t forget to bring your binoculars if you have some, if not we can provide you with a loan pair included as part of the walk. A guided walk at Old Moor this spring will showcase the best that nature has on offer.

Learn about some of the wonderful birds which have travelled from Africa, Europe and the Arctic to Yorkshire, as well as why they have come here, and about our Key Species such as Bittern and Marsh Harrier

This event will last for 2 hours after which we hope you’ll stay and explore the rest of the Dearne Valley on your own. Your fantastic guide Gerald will recommend key areas of the reserve to visit and wildlife to look out for (maybe you’ll spot a family of bearded tits in the reedbeds or harriers soaring over the marsh).

Why not round up your visit with a stop at our gift shop and café. Come for a walk and stay for the day!
