Reedbed Ramble at Newport Wetlands

The perfect opportunity to really get to know those reedbed loving species. From warblers to bitterns and dragonflies and bearded tits, they all love to lurk about in the reeds. This time of year is the best time to spot a large variety of species as migrants have made their way back to breed and joined the resident species. Shouty Cetti’s warblers and dancing common whitethroats, this event is not to be missed. A 2 hour guided walk around the stunning landscape of Newport wetlands national nature reserve, you will get a glimpse into the secrets of the site and all it has to offer. We will be on the look out for all kinds of species so don’t forget your binoculars.

This event is fully accessible and electric mobility scooters are free to hire. Dogs are not permitted on this event, and you will need a car park token to leave. Free to RSPB members, £4 for non-members.

Our café and shop will be open upon return to the visitor centre for lunch time delights.
