Birds of the Reedbeds

Experience life in the reedbeds before the reserve opens up to visitors. Early morning is an ideal time to hear the mellow boom of the bittern echoing across the reedbeds or catch the tuneful calls of sedge and reed warblers. With your guide you’ll venture to the east side of the reserve and watch marsh harriers leaving their roosts to soar high over Titchwell’s stunning landscapes. Enjoy the tranquility of reedbed havens that host an array of dragonflies, damselflies and other invertebrates. Listen out for bearded tits as you meander past reedbeds fringing the West Bank Path and be on the lookout for families of otters. You’ll learn about reedbed management and how important conservation work is protecting these sites for our wildlife.
