Birding for absolute beginners at Pulborough Brooks

If you’re new to birdwatching, this is the session for you. We’ll take you through resources and equipment that will come in handy, give you plenty of hints and tips on how to enjoy watching birds and start working on your bird identification skills with a focus on our garden and common countryside birds. There will be a mix of indoor and outdoor sessions so you’ll get plenty of time to practise with our friendly helpers and we’ll have tea, coffee and biscuits to keep you going!

Once you have got to know your garden birds then you can build on your knowledge through our other ‘Birding for Beginners’ sessions during the year where we focus on birdsong, warblers, waders and ducks as our seasonal highlights.

Information on access around the trails

Please wear suitable outdoor clothing and footwear for your adventure. If you have binoculars then do bring them along but we will have binoculars for you to borrow if not.

The wetland trail includes access to our hides and bird feeding station. The paths are suitable for pushchairs and our tramper mobility buggy (which must be booked in advance). Dogs, other than assistance dogs, are not permitted on this trail.

There is a car park, play area toilets, cafe and shop at the nature reserve.
