Big Picnic Trail at The Lodge!

From blooming wildflowers to dazzling dragonflies there’s so much to enjoy in nature at this time of year, and with a long bank holiday weekend on the cards in June it’s the perfect excuse to gather your family for a good, old-fashioned picnic.

With our special Wildlife Detective activity packs (just £3.50), young explorers will be able to join Detective Hoot and Constable Crumb to solve an intriguing mystery, while learning how make picnics as wildlife friendly as possible.

There will be marked trails to follow, fun family games and even selfie stations too, so what are you waiting for? Start planning your family’s adventure today!

We will have an area for picnics in the gardens. If you plan to bring a picnic please take your litter home with you and please do not feed the animals.

The trail will be over relatively flat terrain but can be tricky in a wheelchair - if you have any mobility issues, please contact us in advance.

Activity packs can be bought at the shop or in the visitor information centre. Parking is £6 all-day for non-members and free for members. Blue badge holders park for free.
