This is a wild event the whole family can enjoy together. We will be exploring our ponds, woodland and meadow with hands-on activities to make sure you get up close to the wildlife that lives there.
The theme of this Wild Family Day is moths and butterflies. Discover the difference between butterflies and moths, be dazzled and amazed by these colourful creatures, get crafty and make your own moth or butterfly to take home!
See what moths have been attracted to our moth trap over night* and then follow our butterfly trail to see who you can see fluttering on the wing.
*Although this event is drop in we will be opening our moth traps at the beginning of the event between 10am and 10:30am. Please arrive around this time if you wish to take part in the opening of the moth trap. We will then keep a few under safe conditions for the moths which can be viewed later in the day.
Cost of activities:
£3.50 for RSPB members. £4 for non-members
Plus entry fees to the reserve for Non-members.
No need to pre-book, just turn up and pay on the day.
Please note that although this event is drop in, we do have a limit on the amount equipment we have. You may be asked to explore other parts of the reserve or complete one of our other activities until equipment becomes available.
