What's that wader? Guided wader wander with Ribble Bird Tours

Autumn has arrived and that marks the return of waders and wildfowl who have just spent the summer in the far north. Once the breeding season is over they make their way back over to our warmer climes and the mudflats of the Ribble estuary are a massive attraction.
Autumn and winter can be a tricky time for wader identification as they change plumage and even the most proficient birder can become unstuck occasionally. Join us and Ribble Bird Tours as we walk from the Visitor Centre along the promenade at high tide. We will take stock of the birds we observe and provide some simple hints and tips for identification.

Stuart, your guide is an expert in his field and operates his own bird tour company, travelling far and wide. He is based locally in Lytham and has a wide and vast amount of knowledge. You will never fail to learn something new on a walk out with Stuart.

Meet at the RSPB Fairhaven Lake Visitor Centre 12pm. The guided walk will last around two hours, with the opportunity to look a little closer with some of our spotting scopes along the way.

Price includes a hot drink on return to the Visitor Centre.

Bring your own binoculars or hire a pair from us for £5.
