Connecting with Loch Leven

We all know that being outdoors makes us feel so much better, both physically and mentally,  and a day out in Loch Leven is the perfect place to enjoy time out either on your own or with friends and family. A day out on our reserve is not just about spending time in nature, but learning how to use all of your senses to connect with nature and to be able to appreciate the nature that is around you every day, whether you are in your local greenspace, in your own garden, or just walking to the shops.

Being connected to nature makes us happier and more contented and improves our mental and physical health. Based on international research, we know that being connected to nature helps us to develop a stronger relationship to the natural world, and so be more inspired to value and protect the species and habitats we share our lives with.

Connecting to nature is good for us and for nature – so come and take part in a wide range of nature connecting activities and find out more about how you can look after yourself and care more for the world around us.

What is Nature Connectedness?
Nature Connectedness is an internationally recognized, measurable psychological construct that describes the human-nature relationship. Nature Connectedness is more than just spending time in nature, it’s about an individual’s sense of their relationship with the natural world.
