Super Starlings for Home Educators at RSPB Ham Wall (ages 7-11)

Super Starlings for Home Educators at RSPB Ham Wall (for ages 7-11)

Thursday 24 November 2022

14:00 -16:00

£6 per child. Please note booking fee applies. Booking fee included in advertised price. Accompanying adults free.

Have you ever marvelled at a starling murmuration? Join us at RSPB Ham Wall to learn about the fascinating lives of these charismatic birds as they gather in massive flocks for their evening flyby above the reedbeds of the reserve before they settle in to roost for the night. The session will connect children to nature and help them to develop new skills for the outdoors.

We'll be meeting at RSPB Ham Wall for this session.

Working in partnership, the RSPB and Natural England provide outdoor learning at the Avalon Marshes near Glastonbury. This wetland landscape in the Somerset Levels teems with wildlife: bitterns, otters, water voles, eels and the largest wintering roost of starlings in the UK. You can find more details of our learning programme on the website https://www.rspb.org.uk/fun-and-learning/for-teachers/school-trips/

RSPB Avalon Marshes has the Learning Outside the Classroom Quality Badge.
