Take your wader ID to the next level with our informal workshop. We will cover all aspects of identification including looking at birds in flight and silhouette, identifying similar and lesser known species plus common wader calls.
And introductory session in one of our hides will support a practical session in the field watching birds in their natural wetland habitats. During the morning we will cover a variety of species including:
large waders (black-tailed v bar-tailed godwits, curlew v whimbrel, redshank v greenshank v spotted redshank)
small waders (dunlin v knot v sanderling, little stint v Temmicks stint)
Sandpipers (common v wood v pectoral v green v curlew)
woodcock v snipe v jack snipe
ruff
