Sunset Walk and Stargazing at RSPB Dungeness

As day turns to night here at RSPB Dungeness, come and explore what takes place in our skies on a winters evening.

Starting with a guided walk around the reserve, you will have a chance to see wildlife that comes out to play at dusk such as marsh harriers, owls, bats and badgers as well as witness and enjoy, a fantastic sunset (hopefully!).

Then, what better way to finish the evening, with a spot of stargazing, which will leave you awestruck by the sheer size and beauty of the night sky. With the help and guidance from the Ashford Astronomical Society, they will share their tips on how to get the most out of an evening under the stars including how to spot objects with the naked eye or through binoculars.

You may get the opportunity to see the Pleiades Cluster or view planets such as Jupiter, Saturn and Mars and if conditions are very good there could be views of various globular clusters, the Andromeda Galaxy, the Ring Nebula or the planet Uranus.

Please note: Unfortunately, we can't guarantee that the stars will be visible on the day of the event. However we do have a contingency plan in place for this situation,
