Harrier Heaven Dusk Walk at Strumpshaw Fen

Join our expert volunteer guide and resident birder, Drew Lyness, for a fascinating early winter wander onto the reserve at dusk as we seek out the spectacle of roosting Marsh Harrier.

Learn all about the incredible lives of marsh harriers and their connection with the mid-Yare Valley, while taking in all the other birds and wildlife that Strumpshaw Fen has to offer at this time of year. We’ll be enjoying the magical experience of being on the reserve as daylight dims, and other creatures come out to play including beautiful Barn Owl, bizarre Bittern and the elusive Otter!

Drew has a good history in finding reserve rarities for visitors to see on guided walks, so who knows what else we may see. A Starling murmuration is also a possibility but is dependant on the birds preferred roost sites which vary throughout the winter.

Evenings like this can offer unforgettable encounters with wildlife so what are you waiting for, prepare to be immersed in harrier heaven at Strumpshaw Fen!

Tickets include entry to the reserve.
