In memory of Roger Wilmshurst
Roger was a familiar sight at Pulborough Brooks, and other wildlife sites in Sussex, almost always sporting his woollen ‘beanie’ hat and with camera mounted on his mobility vehicle.
Roger sadly passed away earlier this year and we’ve been working with his widow, Gina, to look at how we could celebrate his life, his photographic work and his love of Sussex’s wildlife and landscapes.
We’ll be hosting an exhibition of Roger’s photography in the Visitor Centre and his photographs will be available for sale on a donation basis.
Gina is keen for Roger’s work to go to an appreciative home and for any proceeds to benefit the RSPB’s nature conservation work at Pulborough Brooks.
The exhibition and sale will take place in the visitor centre.
Parking for RSPB members is free and there are free short- stay parking spaces for shop customers close to the visitor centre. There is a parking charge of £ 1 for an hour or £3 per day for non-members, which includes access to the wooded heathland trails and the visitor centre facilities.
The visitor centre is open from 10 am until 4 pm each day.
The Hawfinch featured on this event listing is one of Roger's beautiful photographs.
