Free Entry at Belfast's Window on Wildlife

Hooray, get free entry to Belfast's Window on Wildlife (WOW) visitor centre when you bring a National Lottery ticket or scratchcard between Saturday 9 March and Sunday 17 March 2024 (please note the reserve is shut on Tuesdays)*.

Belfast's Window on Wildlife (WOW) is home to birds and wildlife from all over the world. There are more than 100 species of birds and other wildlife to be found here, from lapwings, terns and even konik ponies. In spring flocks of black-tailed godwits can be seen on the lagoon when they rest and feed here before heading north to Iceland to breed - they are resplendent in their 'tomato soup-red' breeding attire. Common terns raise their young and you can watch the fascinating courtship action unfold from our hides and observation room. And Lapwings gather in impressive flocks too 'tumbling down' to land in a wheeling mass, flashing black one moment and white the next.

In the visitor centre you'll find hot and cold drinks and snacks and there is a small kids’ corner to keep little ones entertained and interpretation for them to enjoy. On the reserve you'll find 2 hides to watch the action and plenty of trained staff and volunteers to help you tell a wigeon from a teal.

So it you need a bit more WoW in your life, we know just the place! Grab your National Lottery ticket or scratchcard and let us say #ThanksToYou for supporting us with a free visit and have a really wild time with your family. If you're already a member then why not bring a friend or two for free too?

NB Does not include entry into any of the events being run at the reserve.
