Free Parking and Explorer Backpack Hire at Loch Leven

Visit RSPB Loch Leven during National Lottery Open Week, between 9 and 17 March, to get closer to nature and enjoy free parking with your National Lottery ticket or scratchcard. Simply place your proof of play in the windscreen of your car*.

You can also enjoy free hire of our children's Explorer backpack. One backpack per family with a National Lottery ticket or scratchcard.

Set on the southern shore of the loch, this nature reserve offers a great day out for families, nature lovers and wildlife watchers alike. In spring the reserve becomes a departure lounge for migratory geese and swans as they head back home to their northern breeding grounds. The departing geese make way for one of Loch Leven's most visible arrivals - swallows.

There are two main nature trails and two smaller trails (the wheelchair-friendly Leafy Loop, accessible from the Loch Leven Heritage Trail and seasonal Wildflower meadow trail). You'll also find 3 hides and a viewing point along the way plus cycles can be hired from Loch Leven Cycles in Kinross or Mobility scooters can be hired free of charge from the visitor centre.

And it's a great space for families too who can hire pond dipping or bug hunting kits, explore the natural play area, and walk the pushchair friendly Leafy Loop trail. We also run a programme of family and children’s events throughout the year and have special activities during school holidays.

So why not take a trip on the wild side and visit us at this incredible nature reserve?
