Free Entry at Old Moor

Fancy a flutter? Join us and a wealth of wildlife at RSPB Old Moor between the 9 and 17 March and get free entry for National Lottery Open Week. Just present your National Lottery Ticket to the front of house Welcome Team, and they will guide you to get the best from your visit.

In the heart of Yorkshire’s Dearne Valley lies Old Moor, a family friendly nature reserve just waiting to for you to get excited about nature. Featuring a wide range of facilities and teeming with wildlife there is something for everyone to enjoy. In the spring look out for great crested grebes performing their courtship dance, the sound of Warblers establishing territories along the pathways and Stoats zipping in and out from the undergrowth. The far carrying boom of the bittern can be heard from deep in the reeds and the impressive and mighty Marsh Harrier can be seen soaring over the reedbeds.

And we have everything you need to help your family get hands on with nature too. There are wild play areas, trails, adventure playground, and a lookout hide looking over the wetlands with a free telescope for you to 'lookout' for the wildlife.  Discovery backpacks and pond dipping kits are available from April to the end of October. Then after a busy day relax in our café serving vegan and vegetarian options including a delicious selection of hot meals, sandwiches, soups, wraps, paninis, snacks, cakes, ice creams and hot and cold drinks.

So, why not come and see these wild wonders for yourself at Old Moor. To claim your free reserve entry simply bring your National Lottery ticket or scratchcard and let us say #ThanksToYou for supporting us. Or, if you're already a member then why not encourage your friends and family to visit with you?
