Get closer to nature at RSPB Sandwell Valley! Visit during National Lottery Open Week between 9 and 17 March and park for free. Just put a National Lottery ticket or scratchcard, past or present, in the front windscreen of your vehicle, easy*.

Just a stone's throw from this bustling city, get close to nature at Sandwell Valley. Enjoy a relaxing stroll away from the hustle and bustle of Birmingham, it's the perfect place for families to have fun together outdoors. This nature reserve is a place for wintering water birds to find food and shelter, breeding birds to nest and migrating birds to stop and feed on their long journeys. It’s also a home for frogs, toads, newts and several special types of bees and a wonderful space for people in the local community too.

Visitors with little ones can enjoy walks along our buggy-friendly paths, wildlife challenges, activities such as bug hunting or pond dipping (seasonal) and many natural play features. Explore the natural play trail with den building, balance beams, secret paths and a mud kitchen. Wildlife watchers can enjoy exploring the mosaic of habitats and visit the Lakeside Lookout hide to spot wetland birds with the help of our friendly guides or just stroll around taking in seasonal highlights such as dragonflies, fungi, wildflowers and more.

So why not book a trip to see this incredible nature reserve and simply bring your National Lottery ticket or scratchcard (past or present!) to get free car parking and make your visit even wilder!
