Experience the Dawn Chorus at Strumpshaw Fen

Enjoy the magical symphony of the Dawn Chorus as well as learning to identify a range of our native and migratory songbirds by their calls.

Join our expert warden for one of spring's best wildlife spectacles. We will be out early on the reserve to witness the first faint murmurs in the woodland twilight and then enjoy the wonderful acoustic performance of the true dawn chorus as sunrise approaches.

Enjoy the benefits of a small group size; with exclusive access to our warden who will help you learn how to identify a range of our songbirds by their calls. A unique experience well worth getting up early for!

On your journey through the reedbeds and woods, you will get to hear a variety of traditional birdsong; with the potential of some more unusual additions, such as a booming bittern. After this early morning out on the reserve, we will finish up back at our Reception hide where you can relax with a takeaway hot drink and light snack, such as breakfast pastry, (included in the booking price).

What to bring:

Please bring your own binoculars and come suitably dressed for a very early start when it could be rather chilly.

You are welcome to bring your own refreshments and hot drinks for during the walk.

A takeaway hot drink and light snack is included in the price of booking and will be provided at the end of your guided experience. Please contact strumpshaw@rspb.org.uk after booking and before the event if you have any special dietary requirements that we need to be aware of.

All proceeds from this event go towards nature conservation at RSPB Strumpshaw Fen. Thank you for your support.
