Mountain Hare walk

Join us for a 2 hour ramble from Dove Stone car park up the track to Chew Reservoir, to see mountain hares as they turn from winter white back to their brown summer coats. Our expert naturalist will help you understand their ecology, and will show you lots more besides!

Meet at the to of Dove Stone car park before 10.30 on 9th March. Bring clothing suitable to the weather and sturdy footwear, plus lunch and drinks.

The walk is 4km, half of which will be a steep hill. The track is relatively even. However you will take your time and will stop often to look at wildlife so there will be no pressure to do it quickly! This walk could also be suitable for people using off road electric wheelchairs or trampers.

Please talk to our walk leader James ( for more information about the route.
