This is a fantastic opportunity to learn about the incredible invertebrates that make Sherwood Forest so special!

Explore the hidden wonders of Sherwood Forest on an expert-led journey into the fascinating world of invertebrates! Join entomologist Adrian Dutton on an immersive expedition to uncover the diverse array of creatures that call this ancient woodland home.

Delve into the intricate ecosystems thriving beneath our feet and within the oaks themselves as Adrian shares his wealth of knowledge on where to spot these elusive species, their unique habitats, and the key characteristics that define them.

From translucent ghost spiders weaving their webs to colourful beetles scuttling among the leaf litter, prepare to be captivated by the beauty and complexity of Sherwood’s invertebrate inhabitants.

The route for this guided walk will not use formal pathways, the ground will be uneven and require good footwear.  It is not suitable for wheelchairs and will be approximately 2 miles without benches.  

If you have a hand lens or magnifying glass please bring one (optional). Hand-held microscopes and magnifying glasses will be provided.

This walk is subject to weather conditions and may need to be cancelled at short notice. A reschedule or refund will be issued in the event of this.
