A guided walk and nature watch, taking place outdoors. Part of Dumfries Wild Goose Festival 2021.
A walk with our warden to the Mersehead shoreline, as Svalbard barnacle geese fly into roost on a sandflat stretching for miles. Learn more about why these geese make this place their home throughout the winter months.
This will involve a 2½ mile walk, with some standing around for a while at dusk. So, please come dressed for the weather and bring stout footwear. A torch is recommended for the return walk to car park afterwards.
Please check in at the reserve visitor centre before the event starts.
Note: Please note that this event may only take place while the area is in a covid-tier Level 0 or Level 1. It is important that a contact telephone number is given with bookings, to ensure that we can contact you at short notice if event cancellation is necessary (e.g. due to floods and road closures).
