Moth Mornings at RSPB Dungeness

Did you know that RSPB Dungeness is one of the most diverse place in the UK for insects?

This event is designed to give you that hands on experience and to gain knowledge about the different species of moths in the UK and those specific to the Dungeness area. The morning will be based at our Visitor Centre's Wildlife Garden and will consist of emptying moth traps, viewing the species inside, getting tips on identification and gaining any advice relating to moths or trapping.

Sean Clancy, an expert entomologist whose main interest is moths will be leading this event. He has travelled all across the UK in search of the unusual species and is now an ecologist who specialises in monitoring endangered species and their habitats. He is also the co-author of the book 'Moths of Great Britain and Ireland'.

Money raised through these events helps the RSPB nature reserve teams to continue to deliver their wildlife conservation work, advocacy, education and allows thousands of people every year to get closer to nature.

Please note: In the unfortunate situation this event gets cancelled by RSPB Dungeness we will postpone it to the second Saturday of the month if deemed appropriate. If the event still fails to go ahead then refunds will be given.
