An exclusive tour for you and your group around Bempton Cliffs reserve, lasting approximately 3 hours, delivered by our friendly expert guides. This VIP exclusive tour is tailored specifically to your wants and needs and is ideally suited to those new-ish to bird or wildlife watching or even those interested in some of the history, geology and archaeology of the site.
Head out on the reserve guided by one of our friendly and expert volunteers, carefully tailored to suit your wishes for the day and the weather conditions. Your visit will take you to the the best spots along the cliffs and surrounding habitat to see the seasonal wildlife. Our viewpoints offer outstanding views of the cliffs stretching from Flamborough head across to Filey Bay, the nature trail, grassland and Dell offer fantastic opportunities to view Birds of Prey and other wildlife. Our guides can take around the less trodden routes and offer exclusive insights to the most recent wildlife sightings and history of Bempton Cliffs.
Bempton has some outstanding wildlife to spot at any time of year. It is worth noting that the below is not an exclusive wildlife list and we cannot guarantee you will see all of these (or a specific species) when you visit, but take a look below for the seasonal highlights:
Spring (March to May)
Seabirds (most arrive end March): Puffins, Gannets, Guillemots, Razorbills, Kittiwakes, Herring Gulls, Fulmar, Shag, Cormorant
Birds of Prey: Barn Owl, Short-eared Owl, Kestrel, Peregrine, Sparrowhawk
Farmland birds: Linnets, Skylark, Tree Sparrow, Meadow Pipits, Reed Buntings, Corn Buntings
Mammals: Harbour Porpoise, Bottlenose Dolphins, Roe Deer
Summer (June to August)
Seabirds: Puffins (leave end July), Guillemots (leave end July), Razorbills, (leave end July), Kittiwakes (leave August), Gannets, Herring Gulls, Fulmar, Shag, Cormorant.
Birds of Prey: Peregrine Falcon, Kestrel, Sparrowhawk
Farmland birds: Tree Sparrow, Swallow, Whitethroats, Corn Buntings, Reed Buntings, Skylarks.
Wildflowers: Bee Orchid, Northern Marsh Orchid, Pyramidal Orchid, Red Campion, Scabious

Autumn (September to November)

There could be a fair amount of walking between stopping to look at wildlife and you’ll need to be able to cope with uneven ground. However, as these events will be tailored to each group, we can cater these tours to suit your needs. Therefore if you could like a more accessible tour or to hire one of our free mobility scooters please make the team aware upon booking.
At the end of your tour we’ll stop in at the visitor centre overlooking the cliffs for a refreshing hot/cold drink with your guide.
Please note: All the wildlife that visits Bempton Cliffs is just that - wild. Whilst our experts will do there best to spot the wildlife you are keen on seeing we cannot guarantee any specific species sightings.

Bempton Cliffs weather can be cold, windy and unpredictable at any time of year. Please wear appropriate clothing and footwear to be outside in all weathers for 3 hours.
