Women only Nightjar Walk

We are hosting a walk for women only through Budby South Forest to go in search of the enigmatic nightjar.

This guided walk is an opportunity to experience the magical twilight hours of the forest and hear the unmistakeable sound of the nightjar in its natural habitat.

As the sun sets and darkness descends, the nightjar emerges from its daytime roost to hunt for insects, producing its distinctive churring call and erratic flight patterns.

You will learn to identify the bird’s distinctive features and behaviour, and gain insight into its fascinating life cycle and nocturnal habits.

This walk is suitable for women all ages and levels of experience. It provides a rare chance to connect with nature at dusk.

This event is open to anybody who identifies as a woman. We also welcome non binary people who feel comfortable in a women's only space to this event.

The route for this guided walk will use formal pathways, the ground will be uneven and require good footwear.

This walk is subject to weather conditions and may need to be cancelled at short notice. A reschedule or refund will be issued in the event of this.

Please note, Nightjars are wild animals and sightings are not guaranteed.
