What have customers said about our Hire A Guide expeirences

It was great to meet you yesterday and to visit Newport Wetlands. What a wonderful place! I had a super day, and learned so much about the reserve and it's wildlife from my guided walk with Rob. Thank you for arranging this, and please pass on my thanks again to Rob for showing me birds and habitats I just don't get to see in deepest Shropshire! The dunlins performing their "waves" just above the shore; the water rail, Cetti's warbler and bearded tits who all called their presence, the arrival of the marsh harrier, and the close-up kingfisher were my highlights, but I enjoyed every moment of my visit.

I just wanted to say what a great experience myself and my partner had with our Hire a Guide, Jeremy. He was very knowledgeable about the reserve, its history and the different habitats, and time passed so quickly during the afternoon. It was incredible when Jeremy counted up the number of different species, we had seen during our time with him - 26! There was only my partner and myself, but I think it was great value for money - even more so if the group is 4 or 5 people as allowed. I would thoroughly recommend everyone to use the Hire a Guide service to get the best out of visiting the reserve.

We had a great time yesterday. Our very knowledgeable guide, Alun, gave up a lot of time to give us valuable tips for identifying waders as well as pointing out other birds and information about the site reclamation. With the waders particularly we now know the benefit of waiting for the birds to come closer as the tide comes in and also moving around to view them in better light conditions. We’ll be back to put our new knowledge into practice and also just to see the lovely displays as those waders whirl around!
