Race for Wildlife at RSPB Lakenheath Fen 2023

Our unique Race for Wildlife is the perfect way to combine healthy exercise with supporting wildlife at the same time- as profits from your ticket sales go directly into funding conservation work here- so you could help to pay for some survey work, some habitat improvements for rare wildlife such as bitterns, or some repairs to infrastructure like benches and fences.

The wildlife may come to greet you on your circuit round- marsh harriers, bitterns, bearded tits and elegant cranes all thrive here, and you may spot these as well as much more wildlife on the day of the event.

Two multi-terrain courses- 5k and 10k- will be marked around the reserve and marshals will be placed at strategic points around both routes. The 10k route will include parts of the reserve that aren't usually open to the public, so this is your chance to see different parts of the reserve. Under 16's must be accompanied by an adult. Homemade cake and hot drinks will be available to purchase on the day.

The entrance fee for the event is listed below. However, the more money that we raise on the day, the more money goes towards the management of the reserve. This will help to ensure that the RSPB can continue to Give Nature a Home for rare species such as bitterns, cranes and otters in the future. Therefore, if you are able to give more money as a result of taking part, please consider sponsoring yourself and/ or setting up a Just Giving page using the details listed below:

If you would like to raise more money for the RSPB by sponsoring yourself to take part, please e-mail lakenheath@rspb.org.uk; before the run and we will send you a sponsorship form. Alternatively, you can set up a Just Giving page via: www.justgiving.com.
