Come and join us for some winter sea-watching when sea birds are escaping the frozen north and spending their time at Titchwell Marsh. Wrap up warm and experience the thrill and spill of passing scoter flocks that winter off shore. Your guide will help you get to grips with winter-plumaged divers that like to dive beneath the water and reappear a short distance away. Look out for a scarce Black-throated Diver or a Great Northern Diver while enjoying the more usual Red-throated Divers.
You'll also be looking for members of the Grebe family alongside winter ducks such as Wigeon, Goldeneye and Red-breasted Mergansers. If you are lucky you may even see the beautiful Long-tailed Ducks as you watch the gulls, Cormorants and Gannets soaring overhead. And you never know, you may spot Snow Bunting search for tide-drifted seed along the wrackline on the beach.
A wildlife watching scope is essential for this event. You can hire one for the day from £10, please enquire at time of booking. All enquiries can be sent to Titchwell@rspb.org.uk
